Customer Service & Maintenance Assistant

Job purpose

Cornish Gems primary USP for property owners is the provision of a fully managed service, offering a range of supporting property management services from housekeeping and linen hire through to maintenance.

An opportunity is available to become part of an award winning team in the luxury holiday letting industry with the company looking to recruit a part time Customer Services & Operations assistant to support our portfolio of luxury holiday accommodation. You will be the first point of contact for our guests should they encounter an issue at one of our properties, dealing with a variety, and at times challenging situations, in a calm, professional and satisfactory manner. In addition to this you will be evaluating feedback from guests and using your findings to make recommendations to the department on areas that need improvement to continue to meet and ultimately exceed customer expectations.

Salary:

£17,000 - £18,500 per annum

Full time contract:

35 hours 5 days including Saturdays 9am - 5pm / 10am-6pm

Some additional out of hours cover required

Property Supervisor(s) - various locations

The Role

We are looking for motivated and inspiring team leader to deliver an exceptional property management service to our clients (property owners) and meet the expectations of our discerning guests. Through the management of a small team of housekeepers you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient changeover of properties in your designated area (cluster of approx 10 properties). You will be responsible for ensuring company policies and procedures as well as standards of cleanliness and service are met at all times.

Main Responsibilities

Ensure smooth, efficient and cost effective changeovers of all designated properties.

Assisting with the weekly rota to ensure your properties and staffing levels are adequately fulfilled.

Ensure all inventory items for your properties do not fall below the Cornish Gems minimum requirements.

Ensure your properties are cleaned to an immaculate condition and in line with the Cornish Gems benchmark.

Provide basic maintenance where necessary within the properties. Ensuring all escalated jobs are documented and concluded in line with Cornish Gems procedures.

Manage performance of housekeepers conducting line manager duties and performance management

Accurate compiling and submission of timesheets for your team.

Manage owner laundry for your properties

Prepare all linen and welcome packs for all changeovers of your properties as per Cornish Gems procedure ensuring all properties have required items for all bookings.

Respond to calls from head office outside of office hours (call out fee applicable in line with Cornish Gems company policy and procedure)

Responsible for the health and safety of your housekeepers at the properties in line with Cornish Gems’ company policy.

Accompany the Property Operations Manager to owner meetings where necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for the Job

Experience in managing a team

Experience in a housekeeping role

Excellent organisation and communication skills

Good standard of English, both written and spoken

Ability to multitask

Ability to carry out physical duties of the role

Ability to carry out basic maintenance

Pro-active and can do attitude

35 hours per week Monday- Saturday between 09:00am-18:00.

Based at Truro office and client sites.

Starting salary £19,000 plus bonus potential.

28 days holiday per annum, with increases based on length of service.

Cornish Gems Housekeeping Positions

Cornish Gems are currently looking for dedicated Housekeeping staff that are looking for Friday and Saturday work. With continued growth within our Property Management Department, we are now requiring a strong Friday and Sat team to change over a variety of properties inline with our company standards. We have a number of vacancies open in key areas across Cornwall and transport will be provided. You must have a keen eye for detail and we will provide you with specialist training.

You will work as part of a team within luxury holiday homes within your local area with ongoing support from your line manager.

Job purpose

To ensure a smooth and efficient changeover of properties in your designated area. You will be responsible for ensuring Company policies and procedures are adhered to as well as standards of cleanliness and service are met at all times.
